Today’s Fashion Icon Friday features international sex symbol and animal rights activist Brigitte Bardot.
As a teenager Brigitte Bardot studied classic ballet at the National Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music and Dance.
At age 15, she appeared on the cover of France’s Elle Magazine, before being discovered by Roger Vadim. Vadim was a screenwriter who went on to become a filmmaker and eventually wed Bardot in 1952. The couple eventually divorced but remained friends and continued to work together on many films. In 1956, she starred in the movie titled…And God Created Woman. The film that launched Bardot’s career to international superstardom Bardot’s sex appeal was undeniable. Her golden locks and smoldering eyes became her signature. The kohl black eyeliner and teased hair is still replicated today by hairstylists and make-up artists today.
