Last week I had the privilege to attend Lucky Magazine’s Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference in New York. The conference was 2 jam packed days with panels of experts in the fashion and beauty industry. New and seasoned bloggers were able to benefit from all the conference had to offer. The speakers shared past experiences that have worked for them and how we can apply those to our blog and brand. They shared the good, the bad, and the ugly of the industry and how each of them has endured the rougher times. One thing each and every speaker emphasized was paying it forward and being nice. I was elated to hear each of them embrace this concept and encourage us to banish the outdated notion of being a bitch to get ahead in the fashion industry. Lucky magazine editor in chief Eva Chen said it best when she asked the question, “When did it become okay, not to be nice?” She quickly answered her own question, stating; “that is NEVER ok not to be nice!!” Bravo Eva…I salute you!! The conference was an amazing experience that was intimate and interactive. Attendees were given how- to tips on brand building, increasing readership, and choosing the best social media platforms for your blog.
