Now that 2014 is in full swing I’m going to share a few of my personal resolutions & goals for the brand new year.  Starting a new routine and creating better habits, can be stressful for anyone, especially when you feel like you are all alone. I believe there is power in numbers, so let’s start sharing our resolutions, and supporting each other. What do say…are you with me?

I Resolve to: Exercise more in 2014

I never thought I would be one of those people forcing myself to workout. It was not so long ago that you couldn’t get me out of the gym. I had a personal trainer, took private pilates reformer sessions, and taught my own pilates classes. But all of that changed when I took a job 40 mins (both ways) away from my house. The combination of long hours and commute stripped me of my energy way more than I and anticipated.  So I signed up to run a 1/2 marathon and, in April of that same year, I finished my first race EVER in 2hr’s 24 mins. Not bad considering the unseasonable 40 degree temperature and torrential rain. But after the race my exercise started to dwindle once again. So this time I have decided to take a far less aggressive approach to staying active and fit. I’m setting a simple goal to do 45mins moving and toning 3x’s a week.

DVD’s I will use to get moving:

My favorite Mat Workout!

Fabletics workout wear…

Alternating between High & Tight Sculpt, and Cardio Axe!!
Spilt sole kixx

I prefer to wear my spilt sole dance sneakers like these by Puma when doing any type of matt, cardio dance, or pilates workouts. Bare feet are best when practice yoga…

Strong & steady flowing movements to keep me flexible…

It’s funny how the motivation to better oneself changes as you get older. Years ago the my motivation to workout was usually linked to an upcoming vacation, wedding, or some kind of event involving old classmates. But, now it’s just about staying active and healthy. Getting a tighter bum bum, is just a perk!:0) Whatever your motivation is to start moving in 2014, best of luck to you…and share your journeys here with me!
