Retail Therapy…

This week I got to thinking about positive and negative actions. Positive thoughts or actions create positive energy… in turn negative thoughts and actions create negative energy. Simple right? Well for some it is not always that simple, and try as they might they can’t get past the negativity they are experiencing. Audrey Hepburn’s character Holly Golightly in Breakfast At Tiffany’s called it “the mean reds.” Not to be mistaken for the blues! “The blues are because you’re getting fat or maybe because it’s raining too long, you’re just sad that’s all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you’re afraid and you don’t know what you’re afraid of. Do you ever that feeling?” She asks….and goes onto explain that the only thing that helps her get over the ” mean reds” is to jump into a cab and go straight to Tiffany’s! Calms me down right away. The quiteness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there.” And there you have it…the birth of the impulse shopper…lol! But seriously, I like Holly take great solice in participating in my favorite past time… shopping! For me it’s doesn’t always have to involve physically going to the store… I can snap out of a bad mood just by browsing on-line shopping sites. It gives me a chance to dream about things I may or may not be able to afford. I can put whatever I want into my BAG or CART and know that I may never conclude the sale or hit checkout. This may seem silly to some…but for me it does the trick.

Do do what helps you get over the “mean reds” and move forward with a positive outlook…the shift in energy will make all the difference!!!

In honor of Holly Golightly, I created an inspiration board with some pieces I’m loving…including the ones I can’t afford!!:)
